Trauma Meditation
We’ve all experienced a traumatic experience on some level,
and we all process those traumas differently. We all have different coping
mechanisms, as well, but meditation is a universal method; it can be used in confronting
the negative feelings that we are left with after a trauma has occurred, and aid us in getting past them. You have to be ready and willing.
The Easy Part
Choosing your meditation setting. Be it in your everyday setting or
someplace new, this will likely be the easiest part of this process. There are pros and cons to both,
however. After your session, you could be left with lingering negative energies.
Should you choose to use your everyday setting, this could either blemish your
once peaceful space, or the positive energies that reside there could cancel the
negative energies out. Should you choose to use a new setting, this could
either be a place that you visit only once, so that you can leave the
unpleasant memories there and walk away (from both) for good, or this could be an
uneasy setting, since it is unfamiliar. Should you choose your commonplace, ask
the Source beforehand for a shroud of tranquility or use a grounding crystal,
such as a red carnelian or raw garnet during your trauma meditation.
The hard part
Reliving your experience. Your trauma meditation
session can evoke emotions and fear because you’re allowing yourself to
re-visit that painful place. Let the emotions and fear happen, but don’t let
them seize your attention; acknowledge them and use them. As with any other
session, let these negative energies approach you, but dismiss them after you’ve
spent a few moments with them; replace them with something positive. For
instance, if you’re session is about loss of a love one, instead of re-experiencing
sitting in the front row at the funeral, replace that memory with a joke that
they once told you, or a gift that they once gave you. Take that frozen moment in
time, and attach it to the moment of trauma.
The outcome
Results may vary. Depending on your level of trauma, this could work the first time, or it could take multiple sessions to clear this heavy negative energy. If it does take more than one, be patient. Rushing the process will negate the effort by adding stress and more negative emotions.
If you have chosen to address something that you feel has left you scarred, I’M SO PROUD OF YOU! What a huge break through for you to say to yourself that you’re ready to be done carrying this heavy burden and taking the right steps.
Sending you positive vibes!
